Almost exclusively operating mobile/portable from the car using a Quansheng 2M handheld with either a Nagoya 2M/70CM attached to the boot, or a Diamond antenna attached to the boot with a magnetic base.

I scan actively using my a Uniden UBC92XLT (my favourite toy)

When in the car I monitor:
147.075Mhz ( + offset) VK4RAX at Mt Cotton
146.875 ( – offset) VK4RBS at Alexandra Hills
147.000 ( – offset input 146.400Mhz CTCSS 91.5 Hz) VK4RBN at Mt Glorious
147.950 (- offset) VK4RBR at Murrarie (although I have never heard any on it)
146.925 (- offset) VK4RRC Redcliffe Repeater at Wamuran

Thanks for the comments Nathan. Congrats on that government money! I just filled out my tax form and found out I own another $1,000 to our government! No radio treats with a refund this year!

I’m curious about the four-letter suffix in your call. Is that how the VK’s designate a certain class of licence or did they just run out of three-letter calls?

Sounds like we’re in a similar line of work. I teach at a community college. I take it from your profile you’re also a teacher.

This is an IR Pen I made at work out of a whiteboard marker, and IR LED a momentary switch, a resistor, and batteries... quality construction using sticky tape huh! I need to order a better IR LED this one is not bright enough. Experimenting at using Wiimote for an IWB using smoothboard.
