VE3CH (Greg)

VE3CH (Greg)

Current Status: Working a little RTTY in the DL-DX contest. 40m is jumpin' (...more)

Location: Belleville, ON

About:

I’ve been a ham since 1988. First love is HF, primarily SSB and PSK31, although a good CW workout is always exhilarating! Also active on VHF/UHF and EchoLink. My station is fairly modest: Yaesu FT-897 into a windom for HF. Radio broadcaster by profession. I’m the manager of an FM radio station at a local community college, where I also teach radio broadcasting. Married with two sons, 21 and almost 4 (interesting contrast!).

Greg, I used IZ8BLY’s Hellschrieber. If I remember correctly K7AGE demo’d it on youtube a while back, and with the activity going on today with the contest, it would be a great time to make a contact. I believe I heard a bunch on 14.075 this morning here in PA.

Everyone’s a 5-9! – this blog entry was perfect!!

Our club meets several times a month and I am the only one that argues this…“599..repeat…agn agn” its just wrong!!!!!

Many of them tell me how my latest contact could of been made using a dummy load on their stations.

Just read your your post and wanted to say I agree with you. Thanks for sharing.

Evolution of CW at VE3CH! Straight key, Healthkit electronic keyer (built in 1975, 13 years before I was licenced) and MFJ paddles.
The Shack. A cozy corner of the basement. Beware...low ceiling! There's a nice dent in the air duct above the desk that fits my head nicely!
Couple of lovely boat anchors I will (someday) reburbish.
