    kb0nmq (Mark) kb0nmq A ham radio thought

I wonder if we can post equipment for sale or trade here on this web site? There are many web sites that have that feature now. Not that this web site needs to have or host that, but this web site is fairly unique. Any thoughts?

kb0nmq (Mark) kb0nmq Looking ahead to spring!

I am not sure if winter where you live has been as long and snowy as it has been here. I am feeling like I need to get out doors with my radio and do some thing. I have some favorite places to operate. maybe tomorrow I will go check them out. Just to see what they look like. I have a tent, but really wish for some thing more like a small camping trailer to operate from. Most of the time I just operate from the tailgate of my SUV. With its rear hatch type door it works well. I can keep shady under the door and have a bug screen and a tarp to drape around me if needed. Its a fair set up.
But its raining now, sure to be freezing rain soon. More winter to come. I sould just hunker down here I guess and dig into my stack of logs that need attention. I have some real work to do in here. In November my mother board fried. I lost every QSO up till that point. (yes I have the hard drive. But the data seems to be missing?) However I had been smart.. I kept a paper log too!
Now to transfer that data..to my NEW computer. hey I have a new computer! ( I didn’t tell you?) OK I will just dig in and get it done. that said, I have been scanning my QSL cards that I recieve into a web page. That has been on hold and now, I have quite a stack to scan. But if you want to see my QSL cards go to www.kb0nmq.com I have nearly all of my cads posted ther. I have a few new ones to scan in. About 125!
Hey, I hope your having fun with ham radio! Where ever you are.

On the digimode subject I have been using HRD for over 2 years now. I recently had a little trouble and joined the HRD forum group, had lots of suggestions and they really helped me get the problem (which was more my doing than a software issue) worked out. If you are interested in doing digital modes on HF I think this is by far the nicest software out there, and I have tried them all. And it is free. Go with version 4 for starters, version 5 is out I beta but if you are just starting out stik with the stable v4.0 till you get everything working good and by then I’m sure v5 will be a stable release. 73s

Congrats on the upgrade! Have fun. I do like 17m! Lots of DX there! I did hear activity on 12m last week but could not make out the call, and did not make any contacts. I am not sure if I ever had made a qso on 12m.
RR on the echo link nodes near you. Ours has been up and working well for a long tome. Only down once in a while for maintenence.
Yes, maybe will will travel next summer through Ohio again..? Not sure yet. My son moved to PA. (reason for travel)

6 and 10 have been some of my favorite bands, since I passed my general i love working 10-17. In fact the only other hf band i have worked has been 75m.12 has been opening up recently too.I too want some warm weather again. I dont get on echolink much. I was going to give you the node numbers of the 2 repeater i use but they have problems keeping the link and the nodes were off again tonight.they are the wb8ucd and w8ebg repeaters..
Im glad you and your family enjoyed your trip trough Ohio maybe we will hear you come through again.

Greg, 6 & 10 are my favorite bands! Lots of fun there. Great operators too. 10m has been open a few times here in the past month or so. I am hoping for more of the same & 6m E skip is not far away either.
Long Winter here…looking forward to seeing some snow melting and temps above freezing!
Hey if you get on echolink some time, the local 2m repeater here is 102345 (W0VHQ/R)
I am arround from time to time, mostly mid-evenings in the shack for a bit.
