    Testing for elements 3 & 4 on 11/20/08!!

    Posted 2 days

Well, according to hamtestonline.com I am more than ready for element 3 and well on my way for element 4!! I have to say I DO feel ready for element 3 and I’m pretty sure that by Thursday night I’ll be ready for element 4 too. That does mean that I have done very little in the way of studying morse code since I began focusing on the written tests. Lucky for me that code is no longer a requirement. I am still driven to learn the code since CW is what I am most interested in. I’ll keep you posted.

Whose The New Bacon In Ham Radio?

    Posted 2 days
My vote is Chris, N7ICE is putting serious bacon into ham radio and right on for his kilowatt like energy. Dude. I really appreciate and totally dig your latest additions especially HamBrief. It’s like waking up in the morning to bacon in the house. I believe, in many respects, that N7ICE’s innovative 73s experience transforms ham radio at many levels. We’re in discussion at Twitter concerning three aspects of ham radio 1.) Technology, 2.) Education and, 3.) Communication. And one might say there is old school and new school within the overall community of operators. I’m digital. I’m internet. I’m learning. But the NexGen of Ham Radio is in the ascendancy stage. And one who is putting the new bacon in ham radio is N7ICE. We, on the other hand in the house of 73s, will shape the future of ham radio. For example, who are the shack innovators and what brave new world of wireless technology is being created? What aspects of ham radio are of interest, enough so, that one is willing to seek out further education? Are we shouting out our specific interests in ham radio eg. PSK31, D-Star, RTTY, EME, HF SSB/CW? I believe, those in the house of 73s, represent the future and understand the future as well. Ham radio is changing. Our numbers are changing. And on the front of Chris’ shirt the motto, “On a mission”. What could be more true, today. The new bacon in ham radio is Chris, N7ICE and I’m having a sizzling good time in the house of 73s.

Peter (M3PHP), your callsign is awesome. 73s is loaded is APIs but it’s not documented. Let me know what you are thinking and I’ll hook you up with the appropriate API. I’m thinking an eQSO API would be a good start. You agree?
